This page explains where the material behind the index-led view comes from and how it is handled. The aim is a short, traceable record rather than a claim of editorial authority.

Issuer coverage

The set of companies shown is taken from the list the Johannesburg Stock Exchange publishes. Nothing is added to or removed from that list by this page.

Trading sessions

Session times mirror the schedule the exchange sets for its market. They describe the venue's timetable only and are not a signal about activity in any security.

Holidays and closures

Non-trading days are drawn from the exchange's holiday schedule, gathered from official announcements and news coverage, and each date is checked against the formal notice before it is used.

Prices

The exchange has not granted permission for its quotations to be carried here, so local shares appear without a price. This site calculates no price and no index level; any figure of that kind belongs to the venue.

Company background

Profiles are assembled from Wikipedia and Wikidata, with the source and the date of retrieval noted alongside each entry.

• Pages are regenerated whenever the underlying data changes.
• Sources and retrieval dates are kept with the records they support.
• Where a source is silent, the gap is left visible rather than filled.
